This item is required when replacing the EVAP valve solenoid. The original hoses are made of heat-shrinkable plastic. Spend more money and buy a hose. That's enough for the valve, plus moving the vent. It is recommended to place it behind the bell body, on my 05 Sierra I placed it behind the fuel filler flap.
