Surprisingly easy to use. Effortlessly removes 3 months thick layers of algae that I was afraid to work with. The blade is inserted between the plates after removing the screws. Insert the screws into the plates and holes in the shaver and fasten securely. Be careful as you have exposed razor blades with this tool. The slight angle of the blade allows the blade to slide over a glass or plastic wall without scarring. Don't increase the angle. Work on the same side of the tank, not the opposite side. Little pressure required. I wish the handle was thicker, but all you have to do is be careful and practice. Watch the video to see how easy it is to remove algae. I scraped with my old plastic blade until my hand hurt and there was still algae. I highly recommend this tool. Update April 20, 2020: The new blade we've discovered is having a huge impact. Swap the edges of the included blades as they are double edged. I still love that thing!
