Really good as a universal hub

, this is my first review on Amazon so I hope it helps you. I will try to give as many details as possible. Use this along with a USB-C 3.0 to USB 3.0 adapter on a 2019 Macbook Pro. Solid construction. I've had several other USB 3.0 hubs that have broken, but this one seems to be holding up well. The cables are quite long and appear to be relatively durable. So I ran speed tests with a Samsung USB 3.0 flash drive and the Blackmagic Design Disk speed test software noticed that there is a slight lag, but it's unavoidable and not really a hub fault as it's caused by the addition of an extra device occurs between your computer and your device. But the latency was extremely negligible, and with several other devices connected to it, like a keyboard, mouse, and webcam, I'd say this hub performs very well. I also ran the current force analysis software from the android phone and got the results. were pretty good. It doesn't charge my phone faster than a dedicated 3 amp fast charger, but it actually worked better than a standard 1.2 amp charger, which was amazing. In terms of size, this thing is quite bulky, so I wouldn't take it on the road, especially if access to an outlet is limited as it requires an external power supply. But I think I'll start recording sessions with a band I've worked with where I need lots of USB ports and performance is important. ports and if you prefer external power, but not ideal for use on the go. However, that doesn't mean it's bad for room management. I used to use two separate 4 port USB 3.0 hubs and after replacing both with this one I actually have more space on my workstation. Now for the "problems" I found with the hub. First, when nothing is connected to the hub and all switches are off, there is a slight high frequency noise coming from the AC transformer plug (this is typical of transformers with no coating on the transformer winding). Well that's not a big deal because I had to put my ear about a foot and a half away from it to hear it (and I have very sensitive ears) and also I always have something plugged into a hub and use it all the time, like that that 99.9% of the time there is no noise. The second "problem" I have is that the switches on the hub are not fully disabled. They are wired to turn off power to that particular USB port, which normally shuts down all attached devices. But for devices that are already externally powered, the switch will not turn them off (I noticed this when testing my externally powered multi-channel studio mixer). But again, this isn't necessarily a disadvantage as it doesn't affect the functionality of my hardware and only applies to externally powered devices, which doesn't happen too often. All in all, this is a very good USB hub. The 4 chargers are useful when I want to charge my phone without plugging it into my laptop and all 7 USB ports work at good speeds, especially for a USB hub with so many ports. It seems quite durable so I expect to use it for a long time. If I don't succeed I'll definitely update the review, but I really don't expect that to happen given how solid it seems. Definitely recommend this to active users who need lots of power and lots of USB. ports. This is a good all-in-one solution. My setup: USB ports - mechanical keyboard, mouse, camera, backup hard drive, piano midi keyboard, audio interface. Charging ports - camera power adapter, laptop fan, cell phone charger.
