Easy setup, worked!

Cover the area I need with 5G. I was also able to disable 2.4G as I no longer need it once it covers the yard. It took about 5 minutes to set up in access point mode and connect to the router. The range seems reasonable, but I haven't run any tests other than watching movies on a WiFi-connected backyard TV. AP I would buy it again.
