Review on Dorman Rear Rearward Leaf Spring Shackle: Enhanced Performance for Ford / Lincoln Models by Ron Long

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The weld on the shackle was awful, needed sanding and re-welding

The weld on the shackle was awful, needed sanding and re-welding which meant I had to rip out the bushing that came with, quite a pain in the Neck. Dorman needs to fire anyone making these things. It also came chipped so I had to sand it down and repaint it. The body that fits the leaf spring strut was also too wide, I had to add 3 shims to get the right fit. Everything else was fine, the metal it was made from was a decent thickness and the screws were the right size. But next time I'll probably just go to the junkyard and get a decent pair from another F150.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Nothing here
