Review on Tool Aid 87900 Windshield Removal by John Pineda

15 minutes vs 4 hours to remove rear window

This is my second windshield that I have removed. The last time I did this I used half the hacksaw blade in the holder and removed the inside of a Chevy truck's rear window to replace it with a slider. It took over 4 HOURS. This time I replaced the fixed rear window on my 2016 Tradesman RAM 1500 with this window remover from SG Tool Aid 87900. This out of window tool removed the window, no kidding, 15 MINUTES! The hardest part was removing the tool and reinserting it to bypass the four tabs the original window used to hold it in place while the urethane cured. Be sure to angle the blade against the glass and not the weld to easily cut through existing urethane.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
