Too much assembly effort and TOO LOUD!

First off, K&N really needs to do something to make installation easier and easier. There are too many pieces in this puzzle. It takes too much time to assemble all the bolts, washers, spacers, nuts and everything else. Luckily the instructions are GREAT! You couldn't ask for a better guide. For an intake system that is equipped with a gasket that goes around the heat shield, it only seals at the fender. When you use your vehicle for farming, your filter gets messed up all the time. It doesn't seal the front, back or top, especially the top, so why make the installation so complicated and time consuming when the three heat shield mounting brackets are adjustable? And trying to simultaneously insert a screw into the back of the heat shield and reinstall the horn is impossible. I had to pull the heat shield out, remove the bracket from the heat shield, attach the bracket and horn to the car, and then struggle like crazy to put the bracket back into the heat shield using a screw, washer and spacer. where it is almost impossible to reach your hand. When I finally put all the pieces of the puzzle together and closed everything, the test drive began. Without a closed air chamber for the filter, this suction cup is LOUD! I have a moderate sounding exhaust system installed and I can't hear the exhaust over the intake. So if you need volume, this is a good choice for you. I had to return it.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Nothing
