Like the heading says I needed to lay out post holes while the existing barn was still up, this kept me from doing the old diagonal measure method. I set the thing up after sundown and at my first post hole location. I set one Axis across the long length of the barn where i wanted it and measured off 60 feet and put a stake and another stake on the short side at 36 feet. I moved to the long axis stake and put the tripod where the laser crossed that stake, then put the last stake in, and when i moved to that one and lined the laser up, it was splitting both stakes I put up on my first setup. This wouldn't have worked well during the day is the only negative i have to offer.
