For mounting a trailer board to a truck bed, these bolts are so superior to lag bolts that there is no comparison. We had to attach to a plastered wall and all that was required was a small 5/6" hole punched in the plaster which is much easier than a large 1/2" hole. These screws turn easily, cut their own threads and have so much gripping power that you have to be careful how fast/deep you turn them because they will crush your ledger.
