Review on 🌐 Waveshare Industrial RS232/RS485 to Ethernet Converter: Dual Serial Ports with TCP and UDP Data Transmission by Fernando Beck

I bought this specifically to monitor the UART output of my DUT during ESD testing. It mostly worked (there were a few USB failures but could be unplugged/replugged to fix) up to 15kV. I did a 15kV test and started getting garbage from the Waveshare terminal. My DUT's UART output still works with another UART receiver. Cycling the current did not fix this problem (at 15kV at lower voltages I've seen trips recovering after cycling the current). The description says "Lightning and Anti-Static" but it's obvious that doesn't mean anything. Aside from that critical design flaw, it seemed to work.
