One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

E8600 Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. This is a legend about a computer chip, not merely a CPU. Since I first purchased it in August 2009, this rock has consistently kept my drinks icy and has never once caused me to wonder, "is there snot under the lid?" It's a terrible shame that at the end of 2017 I couldn't rely on its capabilities to help me out of a jam. Unlike the E8600, I doubt the next processor purchase will bring me as much joy.

Pros

Overclocking possibilities; no need for cooling; high power output -Reliable -Productive The Radeon HD 3870 and Radeon HD 7770 worked with my copy (and you can play with them, albeit at low to medium settings in newer titles).

Cons

None. It was a robust answer for its time (2009). Outdated at this time. Socket 775

Pros below: Optimal combination of price and quality even in the middle of 2010. Has some cons: Unnoticed, although I have been using it since the date of its release
