Does most of what I expected

This is a convenient and inexpensive way to add HDMI, VGA, Ethernet and USB ports to your USB-C only laptop (like all newer Apple MacBooks ). I was hoping to use this to connect an external LG USB-C monitor to a linear MacBook Pro, but in this configuration the MacBook didn't recognize the monitor. I also wish the built-in cable was longer than 6 inches - my MacBook sits on a stand and the multiport dangles in mid-air when plugged in. Well, it's still a useful peripheral and a lot cheaper than the first generation or multiports.
