I have used several suction cup car mounts in the past , but this one worked best. My Prius' dashboard is textured and curved so regular suction cups never stay on it for long. This Maxboost mount comes with an additional plastic backing plate with strong adhesive. The mount goes nowhere once attached to this baseplate, even over bumps and potholes. I have a Pixel XL with a bulky Otterbox case. My cell phone sits perfectly on the holder and does not move when overweight. Attaching and detaching the phone to the mount was easy. Mine is dash mounted so it's easy to see and control, but I believe you can mount it on the windshield as well. Turning the phone on its side is easy and feels stable. Lots of dials to tighten the device and change direction, making it very versatile. I am very satisfied with the product and can only recommend it.
