First, let me start with my prejudices:* I swear I saw somewhere that each set of blocks weighed 20 pounds so I got so excited and bought two. Looked too good to be true. Should have known better. It's up to me*. Based on that, I expected big blocks. I also expected 40 pounds of wood total, so that assumption makes sense*. The description states that "absolutely no knots". You can see some of my paintings in 3 out of 10 blocks. Here are some facts: * Product images show me the dimensions of each block. I should have said that 40 pounds of wood is NOT. * The wood is still fairly high quality. Despite these "knots," I think I'm being a bit unreasonable in my expectations. These are surface knots (or just minor imperfections) and I can definitely cut them.* I have yet to cut one of these blocks. I was so shocked by the size that I am writing a review before I write. After that I will write another review * I'm not a planner. I'm brand new These blocks are actually very good for me - and personally I couldn't cut the blocks down to this size for training. at 9pm, but he arrived early in the morning). However, I do not hold the carrier responsible for this, but rather any company that delivered it. And it was still within what I thought was a very reasonable delivery window. There really is no mistake here.* The size consistency is actually pretty shocking. They're not perfect, but I don't expect wood to be so perfect that I don't want to carve it. I'm impressed.* The packaging is very nice, even after delivery. Blocksets are definitely worth a gift. Additional Thoughts: *These blocks are worth every penny I paid for them. I will most likely buy a few more sets. Now that I know they are quite small, my expectations have changed. I like things like that. To me, the phrase "complete plane set" should include a knife. I would recommend changing this wording.* The description contains too many capital letters. Makes me mad. But that's just me. I still bought two of these, maybe the description is perfect. *Another image showing the size comparison of the entire set to something else would be nice, but to be honest the info is there. Okay, I think that's explanation enough. To sum it up, I love these kits and the idea of me getting a bunch of wood is really up to me. The quality is pretty good, the sizes are fantastic and the price isn't very high for what I got. I can't blame the seller for a size smaller than expected. I apologize for the verbosity. It's me =).
