I bought this arrow to join the shorter pieces of filament I had left over from a few spools to make enough to print. I was also hoping to use it in a way that if I ran out of a roll I could put it in a new roll so I wasn't wasting thread in vain. This light has a simple design and works well once you get the hang of it. You should make the ends of the thread as straight as possible when using this jig so the two ends stay aligned as they melt. It's easy to use, basically here's how it's done. Make sure the bracket halves are aligned and tighten the screws. Insert the thread so that the ends of both parts touch in the center of the circle. In short, I mean short, use a flaming torch to heat the joint between the two pieces of thread. If you keep it warm for too long, you'll end up with a big ball of thread. When they are connected, push the thread to the end with inserts until it pushes through. Then move the threaded connection back and forth several times on both sides of the template. If the joint is smooth and both pieces are attached, you're done! If not, try again. Overall, this device is affordable and gets the job done well with a little patience.
