Improvement in Romance

Update: 06/14/2021 Improvement of the overall rating by two stars. I would like to continue a few things mentioned in my original review. 1. Carrying capacity. Although loading this thing causes some play, it still snaps into place with little difficulty. I don't know how long the hinges will last with too much weight, but so far they're strong. 2. Compatible with my trunk lid. I just got into the habit of opening the toolbox to remove or remodel the trunk lid and it's probably not as inconvenient as I thought it would be. Basically, I was complaining about something that doesn't really matter. Because of these two things, which were big issues for me in my original review, I wanted to go back and update my improved looks. I love writing reviews for products I like, they are easy to write. It's harder to rate products I wanted to like but don't like. I'll break it down into sections that apply so far. This is day one so can't comment on the water resistance, bodylock protection or a proper twist lock that was included. The version of the product I ordered and received was the passenger side model compatible with the 2020 Ford F-350 (long bed). UNPACKING: The Swing suitcase looks beautiful. It is made of durable plastic with quality fittings. Everything is packed in a case and easy to determine according to the instructions. It also came with a twist lock with key which I knew from several reviews wasn't part of the deal. INSTALLATION: Everything as simple as the marketer wants it to be. My 6 year old son was my assistant and thanks to his help the work took about 25 minutes. Alone I could see it finished in 10 minutes. A drill comes in handy, but we made it with a screwdriver and the right bits.SWING: Love ended abruptly here. First, the locking mechanism had to be adjusted to the smallest possible position so that the system could pivot and lock smoothly. It was normal and described in the instructions. However, after loading about 35 pounds of gear, the box will not snap to the side latch without lifting the box. It snaps and holds tight, but eliminates much of the expected comfort. It's a lot easier to get it to snap into place from the back of the truck, but this case should have allowed me not to get on the back of the truck. Considerable force is required to unlock, mainly due to a poor fit in the latch. It works and you don't have to be Superman, but it used to be MUCH easier and they added gear. If the latch wasn't already in the lowest position, I think adjusting it would completely solve this problem. CAPACITY: It has quite a bit to offer in terms of volume, but as so often, my imagination put a lot more into it than reality would allow. I'm a little disappointed with this, but the fault here is entirely mine and doesn't affect the star rating I gave. COMPATIBILITY: I have a factory Ford hinged trunk lid. It has a spring loaded clip with a handle on either side to hold the lid closed. The case makes it physically impossible to lock the passenger side when the case is in the locked position. When the case is pulled out, you can simply attach the tonneau clamp and the case will then snap sideways. It's not possible to lie in bed with the tonneau cover closed, however, and the longer reach and lift required to close a suitcase outside of the bed isn't very comfortable, but doable. GENERAL: I am disappointed that the weight well below the rated capacity of 75lbs is causing the unit to not function properly. If it were possible to lower the latch another quarter of an inch it would probably work fine, provided the hardware is strong enough to avoid additional sagging over time. I'm also disappointed that I can't close or open the trunklid in the closed position, but that wouldn't be a huge issue if the trunk could be closed easily. until finally I pull it out and leave it to avoid a headache. For $200 I'm not sure I'm ready for that, I can go back to Revain.
