especially very comfortable! A little over 5 feet and I can't access my tall cabinets. Pooh. I hate going to the workshop for a ladder when I just need something quick from above! Very handy to have it right in the kitchen. Middle aged and I'm perfectly comfortable with climbing. The back is higher than most stepladders this size and I appreciate holding on to it. As another mentioned, it's a slim step up. Most of the time I don't care and it works. But beware, I scratched my ankle once in a hurry. What I like least, and it's just a decor preference: the frame is delicate overall. It looks pretty fun next to my other pedestal height wooden chairs when I use it as a table seat. Separated from these chairs no problem. The wooden seat is uncomfortable and whoever thought so should reconsider this complaint. The only opinion I can share about the seat is that it scares you when it suddenly falls off. No complaints, this is a solid wood seat. Overall I LOVE THIS LADDER CHAIR and would buy it again.
