Simple plug and play game recorder: perfect for aspiring content creators!

I have been creating online content in my spare time for several years. I live stream and upload videos to Twitch and YouTube. With all the variety of software, hardware, coding, and other technical issues, it's nice to have a solution that's ready to go. While image quality isn't perfect, the ease of use of this product far outweighs the loss of color saturation in the final shot. So let's take a look at this device. What's in the box? - HD video capture device - HDMI cable - Power cord (US standard plug) --> Not shown in photos - ArcSoft editing software CD (8cm disc) - Quick Start Guide Good: - Setting up this device is extremely easy. Simply connect the included power adapter, HDMI input from your device of choice, HDMI output to your TV or monitor, then use the USE cable from your external hard drive as a recording storage device. Once everything is connected, just press the "REC" button, wait for it to turn red and you're done! To stop, press the "REC" button again and wait for it to turn green. Your entry is complete! The files are automatically saved as an MP4 file, which is fairly easy to edit in programs like Adobe Premiere, allowing you to create a montage of your favorite moments. Files are named automatically, so I recommend downloading them to your PC and renaming them after burning so you don't forget which file is which! The device comes with free editing software. I can't say I've used it as I already use Adobe Premiere, but it's always nice to have something included at no extra cost, especially if you don't already have editing software. Bad: - Color saturation and black depth in the video. I've attached a video comparison of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on Xbox 360. One video was recorded with the MWIN Premium HD Video Recorder Box and the other with Elgato HD60s. The Elgato map has darker blacks and slightly lighter colors. This is evident when the screen goes dark and then reappears during video transitions. However, this isn't very noticeable for most of the cutscene. I probably wouldn't have noticed that if I hadn't watched the videos side-by-side in direct comparison. length of cable. The power cord for this device is only about 3 feet long, while the included HDMI cable is only about 18 inches long. But it's still very good that an HDMI cable is generally included in the scope of delivery. This device only supports HDMI input and output. If you want to capture recordings from older devices that use traditional component inputs, you will need a converter that will serve as the HDMI input for that device. Ugliness - I can not say anything about this device. The box itself is very aesthetically pleasing, and the units themselves, being black, complement any home theater or PC gaming decor you might have. streaming content. This only applies to offline recording. Keep this in mind when planning your purchase. Once you figure out how to use this device to stream live content, you'll have more options! The device records videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second with a bit rate of 11 kbps. This format should be very good in terms of video quality while maintaining a reasonable file size. All in all I would highly recommend this product if you are looking for a cost effective recording solution with an extremely simple one button recording interface. It's ideal for people who want to record gameplay with an HDMI-compatible device with good picture and sound quality, while being significantly cheaper than other options on the market.
