Review on Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 215/55 R17 94V summer by Wiktor wikliski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like the product very much, fully consistent with my expectations.

Bought a ContiPremiumContact 5 205/55 r16 H, Germany, bought for a class "C" sedan. When choosing rubber, meticulously compared it with the rest of the top tires. The ContiPremiumContact 5 immediately stands out with its increased dimensions, it is about 1cm wider and 1cm taller than all other summer tires of the same size. And Conti5 also has a deeper tread, like winter tires, and it also looks like winter tires on the disk - such plump "buns". Comfort is the softest rubber I have ever ridden. But in this regard, I have vague feelings: on the one hand, the car simply floats / soars like a ship, perfectly swallowing bumps and joints - on the other hand, this roll sometimes seems to me excessive. Noise is really quiet rubber, on any surface only rustling (low frequencies) is heard, on asphalt with a large dispersion the rustle of rubber increases, but does not irritate, the rustling does not turn into a hum. The difference in noise at speeds from 60 to 100 km / h is practically not noticeable, for the noise characteristics of rubber, a solid five. Board - yes, it is thin, but it is precisely due to this that comfort is achieved when driving. In addition, I would not call flimsy rubber, I already got into several holes at speed, tram rails, drove over small curbs, etc. there are no cracks or damage. There were fears when buying, overboard, but after two months of operation, I don’t see any problems, for me the strength is sufficient. It brakes perfectly, in the rain and through puddles, too, everything is fine, there are no problems with the track. When changing lanes, there is a delay in the reaction to the steering wheel, but you can’t expect anything else from soft rubber. Total: ContiPremiumContact 5 H, in terms of comfort, is an excellent rubber and will be a salvation for a stiff suspension, but if your suspension is already quite rolled or you are afraid of the fragility of the sides, take the V index, the rubber will be more "collected". By the way, at the expense of the strength of the sides, in this sense, I recommend calculating what is cheaper for your car, suspension repair or tire replacement, for me the choice is clear.

Pros
  • very soft, quiet, brakes well, on water without problems
Cons
  • Index H, perhaps too soft (rolled)
