Review on πŸ”’ PL5412 Blue Ribbon Metallic Manual Tailgate Lock for Toyota Tacoma with BOLT Codeable – Pop & Lock by Cashout Harden

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I just installed my 2nd device. Don't forget to spin your hand!

This is my second Pop & Lock for my 2014 Tacoma. The first one broke after 2.5 years of operation. There was always resistance when opening and finally the notorious plastic part broke. So far I have been very satisfied with the product. Since there are not many alternatives, I took a risk and bought a second block. Not sure if this was in the instructions a few years ago, but the instructions for this unit said the rider's sidebar should be reversed or you would have premature grip failure. I don't remember if this was mentioned in previous instructions. But I didn't do it the first time, and maybe that's why I had resistance/failure early. This block opens much easier and even the lock is better. Previously, the lock just turned a small twist to toggle it on or off, with no click or indicator to indicate it was toggled on or off. The new lock provides feedback letting me know if she has enabled/disabled the lock. Although I'm happy with the new lock, although I agree with many, the plastic part should be metal. I will update again in 2.5 years. I also recently learned that this company does not honor Revain's purchase guarantees. Really guys?
