Awarded Anet A8!

My favorite 3D printing filament! I use Anet A8. I originally started with PLA but have experimented with ABS. My first attempts were with a small test pack of 20 foot lengths of different colors sold as refill packs for 3D printing pens. Results have been mixed with them, but you won't be able to print anything too substantial with shorter lengths. The swatches I tried were solid threads, so I'm not sure if this translucent blue spool has any other qualities that would make it better for me. At first I was nervous about using ABS after hearing horror stories about being stuck in bed and fumes. , warp, etc., but it wasn't bad at all. I spent quite a bit of time carefully aligning my glass bed to make sure it was installed properly. My printer is not fenced in, but is in a draught-free area. The fumes aren't as bad as I expected and I didn't even notice them unless I was near the printer. I really like the translucent blue color. One notices that the light sometimes penetrates several layers, which forms a strong contrast to the monochromatic threads. So far I haven't had any stretch marks, pimples or other blemishes with this thread like PLA from the same brand, but I can't say for sure how much of it is due to the thread or because it's worn out. a week or so and may have absorbed moisture. My first print with this filament (see photo) was part of an upgrade for my Anet A8. I've previously installed a Y-axis belt tensioner, filament guide, filament spool holders, and glass platform, but otherwise use an A8. This print was allowed to cool completely to room temperature (no fans) before removing it from the bed. This was printed just minutes after removing the spool from the box. Sliced with Cura. Layer height 1mm 75% straight fill No rim used No supports No cooling Glass layer with hairspray at 90Β°C Extruder at 250Β°C 50mm/sec
