I had to have a new door installed so I had him install this as well. Fairly easy to install. We did find out that when he made the hole for the lock, it was a little snug. When we tried locking it, it would lock then unlock. After he figured out the issue it worked like a charm. If you run across this problem, make sure it’s not rubbing against anything and has a wide enough opening. I had no problems setting everything up. Just read the instructions and you’ll blow through it. So far I have set up to use the fingerprint and a code. Fingerprint works great and so far it hasn’t been finicky. Batteries are super easy to change and you will need 4 AA batteries. When you install the batteries you will see the reset and setup buttons, this is how you will begin your programming. When you lock from the inside you can either use the two buttons that lock/unlock or lock it manually, which is what I do to save on the batteries. It does speak to you when using it but I find the volume to be low. So if you’re hard of hearing this might be a problem. I haven’t checked yet to see if you can adjust that. Still learning as I go along and get used to using it. So far I am loving it! It will be so much easier and faster to get in the door when my arms are full with packages, groceries, etc. I also have people that house/dog sit for me, so the option of using the cards or a code make it so much more practicable than having to have a key made for everyone. And just the fact you can change your codes anytime for those one time users makes life so much easier! No more changing locks or keys. As of now I couldn’t be happier with the look, quality, ease of use and all the extra choices you have for your security. Awesome product.
