Review on Bosch DSB5013P Daredevil Spade - 13 Piece Set for Ultimate Drilling Efficiency by Anthony Cornelius

Compared to previous Craftsman spade bits I've had these are excellent and very good value especially if you take advantage of the Bosch promotion. The only problem is that initially the promo was buggy and I had to add and remove items multiple times to register them, which was very annoying, I almost didn't do it. I just checked some holes in the stump. Add degrading chemicals and compare the performance of the Bosch Daredevil to an old Craftsman set. The difference was day and night. The craftsman struggled to make progress in hardwood despite applying very hard pressure with the side handle of my Milwaukee FUEL bit. If I had done the test when the stump was fresh I think the Craftsman bits would have stood a chance, but the wood of some trees does seem to harden a bit after a few months. (I think I only tested at 1/2", 4" deep. As mentioned, the bits pull quite a bit due to the thread center, so you really want a very good quality drill bit with good variable speed control Trigger, preferably high-force Luckily the Milwaukee Fuel with high-capacity battery also handled tough fibers that were difficult to remove Wide range of sizes in a handy case if you don't have a drill, forstner or hole saw and just want for quick drilling of holes. Great for cable routing. I probably wouldn't recommend it for the largest hardwood sizes. I would definitely use an HSS or carbide bit instead of things like a latch in a metal door.
