Description of NEIKO 02440A 44 Piece Impact Socket Set with Standard SAE and Metric Sizes, Deep and Shallow Kit, Extension Bars and U-Joint Included

METRIC & STANDARD SOCKET SET: Our universal socket set includes both metric and standard sizes to fit any and all measurements you encounter on the job! This socket kit will fill all your tool needs. HEAVY-DUTY IMPACT SOCKETS: Each socket in this 44-piece master kit is constructed with high-impact drop-forged premium CrV steel. The sturdy and professional chrome vanadium construction allows you to take on any project, large or small. 6-POINT HEX DESIGN: The 6-point hex socket design prevents round off on fasteners under high torque exertion from high-impact or electric wrench output. The included socket set case holds each socket for easy transport and storage. EASY-READ SOCKET SET: Each socket has a highly visible laser-etched marking on a black phosphate finish for easy identification of the socket measurement. This design allows for fast application, efficiency, and accuracy in any work space. METRIC & STANDARD SOCKET SIZES: This set includes SAE deep sizes from 5/16" to 3/4" and SAE standard sizes from 5/16" to 3/4". It also includes deep metric sizes from 8 mm to 19 mm and standard metric sizes from 8 mm to 19 mm.

Very happy with it in Power & Hand Tools

Great set, I broke them while changing the timing belt and water pump (driven by timing belt) on my mum's 2007 Honda Accord. I like that I didn't have to switch between ratchets to use the head size I needed like my old socket set (10-14mm was in a 3/8 drive and 15-19mm was in a 1/2 drive ). . . This is my first time buying a Neiko product and I bought it on a whim, I'm very glad I did. Combined with my 3/8-length twist-grip ratchet and my Milwaukee battery-powered ratchet, this set made for a…

Best head I've bought

I work with diesel engines and related systems which can be pretty rough for tools. I got this set because I need an impact resistant set in the most common SAE and metric sizes, also I need shallows and depths. Combined with the extra extensions and the always helpful wobble socket, this seemed like just what I needed. The price definitely helped me in my decision. I have had the set for a few months now and use it daily, it has been heavily abused and shows no signs of wear other than a few…

Ideal for the DIY enthusiast for power and hand tools

This was my first set of 3/4 sockets. I have decided to ditch chrome altogether and go straight to impact wrenches as I will inevitably buy an impact wrench as I delve into working on my cars as a hobby. They don't skip any size and get the job done with my harbor freight ratchet and my Milwaukee 1/4 impact wrench. Use them to put headers on my Mustang with no problems. While I can't currently comment on the durability of these sockets or their performance with medium to high torque impact…

Good set of 3/8 " power sockets

I searched for several 3/8" power sockets as in many cases a 1/2" impact wrench is too much for what I need of the good. I've had Neiko products in the past and was happy with the quality so I've decided to buy them again. They certainly work well but I can see by the part that goes to the wrench compared to the unused sockets some wear and tear. I suspect it could be the tolerance. The problem is either with the tool or the head, but I have several brands of 3/8" impact wrenches and all of the

Ideal for do-it-yourselfers.

At the time of purchase this set was $59 and comes with metric and standard hex socket sets. Along with deep and short versions of every size. I was able to easily use my short Milwaukee 3/8 and remove all the bolts on my 1998 Buick Lesabre. I live in North Dakota and the rust on the suspension is awful, but I reflected my exposure to the lower control arms, tie rods and jacks which did a great job. Whether you're just doing a weekend project or regular maintenance, this set is perfect. by…

Amazing sentence! fits hand tools

The durability of these sockets is incredible. I have a high torque Milwaukee 1/2 and while I know it's not great I use a 3/8 adapter a lot and can't believe how well the sockets and swivel adapter held up. Coming from Ohio in the rust belt I can't tell you how much rust and just plain gross stuff I had to clean up to clog those outlets. These are really great plugs. Easy to read, the pen slots hold up well and the fit is great. Quality sockets make a world of difference, no more rounded screws

Great price for a set of sockets, great coverage!

I needed a new set of sockets, I keep losing them. I still have a few sets but they are no longer complete. You don't have to spend over a hundred to get a decent set of sockets. These things are definitely a trick too. Time will tell if they hold up. I've ripped my share of outlets, especially the cheap ones. They look massive and are a good weight. I'm impressed with the quality of the case. It's very pretty and is holding up well. It feels solid and has good closures. To be honest the case…

Driver 3/8 for hand tool

Of course I had my reservations, deep reservations, about buying a set of Chinese tools. But I read about Neiko and realized that this brand is really trying to find a balance between value and durability. When they arrived they were covered in oil (most of you know that's a good thing). The laser etched measurements on the side help my tired eyes a lot. It is noteworthy that there are more metrics than SAE in this set, but that is the trend of the times. The 44-piece set represents the "Best…

almost everything in one set

If I have problems with the set in the future, I will note it in this review. The set is complete enough for almost any task. You will very rarely need a smaller or larger outlet and this set has everything in between. My goal was to limit the number of tool cases I use for different tasks and this seems to eliminate the need for two separate SAE and metric cases that I use, except for the smaller and larger sockets, both of which have suitcases. I rarely use these sockets anyway so this set…

Great body, quality and variety

Dimensions stamped/rolled and laser engraved. Nice gesture. It would be nice if the engraving matched the locking pin holes, but that collects nits. Phosphate coating, no iron oxide, which is nice. The box says "Made in Taiwan". It's CrV, not CroMo. CrV is more brittle so I've been told the walls would need to be thicker to absorb impact, but they will last longer than CroMo as CroMo will start to warp with use. Presumably CrV will break, CroMo will break instead. I've never seen a head snap…
