Better than expected

Best idea since sliced bread. I am thrilled! This one is for myself but will buy more for gifts. It is a good weight & great construction. Buy with confidence.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • The dipping bowl may not be stable, causing spills or messes

Great in so many ways!

The wood is beautiful--nice enough to hang up in my dining room like a piece of art. The leather cord, which is attached through a metal grommet, makes displaying it easy. It's exactly the right size for the baguettes I buy and the guides make for perfectly-sized pieces of bread. Most of all, I like that all the crumbs from cutting remain on the tray so it's great for serving neatly at the table. I used to have to find a cutting board big enough to cut a baguette and then put the pieces in a…

Gorgeous bread miter

This is our second one and it is just as nice as the first one (which still looks great after almost four years of use). Apply food-grade butcher block oil and it will catch any guest's attention.

Pros
  • Kitchen Accessories
Cons
  • The dipping bowl may not be compatible with certain types of food, such as acidic or oily foods

Looks good on your countertop and works perfectly.

My biggest problem is finding non-pre-split bagels so that I can enjoy using my Ironwood Gourmet Bagel Miter. That's my feedback.

Pros
  • Kitchen & Dining
Cons
  • The board may not have feet, causing it to rest directly on the countertop

Bagel holder - my new review

It cuts the bagels straight down the middle. Can not hold the handle though or else the bagle will come out of the holder. Have to hold the whole holder while cutting the bagel.

Pros
  • The two-piece design provides versatile use, allowing the dipping bowl to be used separately for small appetizers or finger foods
Cons
  • The dipping bowl may not be microwave safe, limiting its versatility

Using the Bagle cutter

Works reasonably well, however with a cold bagle it does not fit firmly enough to cut with ease.It would have been ideal if that handle to hold it with adjusted the one side so the bagle could beheld in place. I purchased the plastic knife with it, and it seems to work ok.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • The acacia wood may not be resistant to insect infestation

the groove, to allow the knife is thin

The groove that sit in the mid line where the bagel sits is thin ,so make Sur you have a thin blade on your knife, otherwise you will have to rotate the bagel to cut it all the way through

Pros
  • Gift for friend
Cons
  • The dipping bowl may be difficult to refill

Substantial but bent

This review is about the Ironwood Baguette Miter. This is a large, very sturdy piece of wood. In fact, storage requirements should be considered. But, whether by design or accident, it is somewhat canoe shaped and rocks from the middle. Enough that I'll be using a sander to try and flatten it. Cutting at either end currently results in the 'boat' rocking up on the other end. Don't know if this is common.Still, very well made and finished except for the curvature. Actually useful as well as…

Pros
  • Manual
Cons
  • The acacia wood may absorb food odors that are difficult to remove

Functional, pricey.

It works. It is a beautiful item, I just don't think the price is right on this item. It was an impulse buy for us. We could have lived without it.

Pros
  • It's made nicely but the color is much darker than I was led to believe in photo.
Cons
  • The acacia wood may be too porous and absorb flavors from different foods

Nice touch for the kitchen

This is something you want to leave out on your counter. A great alternative to the guillotine like plastic ones. Works very well for bagels. I use it for potatoes too.

Pros
  • Easy to clean , the size is proper for me for two loads of toast.
Cons
  • The board may be too heavy to handle comfortably

The handle falls out after a while

I bought one of these many years ago and the handle fell out so I used it for some years without the handle. Then I thought they must have fixed the problem by now so I bought a new one and guess what the handle fell out on the new one! They need to make this in a way that the handle doesn't fall out. Please.

Pros
  • Ironwood Gourmet
Cons
  • The acacia wood may not be resistant to stains from food or liquids

Very attractive, sturdy, comfortable to carry.

Attractive, well built, good proportions. Purchased to act as a TV tray to carry dinner to another room or outside and to place on my lap as a dining surface. I had some old bamboo trays that came apart if you used the handles and were flimsy. I liked the idea of the lip on this saddle tray to keep everything in place, which it does very nicely. I only gave it 4 stars because of its size. It does not hold a dinner plate and really is too small for a lunch plate or at least my lunch plate, due…

Pros
  • Wood
Cons
  • The dipping bowl may not be suitable for use with hot or boiling liquids

Looks good; not necessarily for fat modern "bagels "

It looks good in the kitchen. Mine arrived with the handle broken off (it had just been glued in place). I merely glued it back on with better glue. Unfortunately, the fat non-bagels that pass for bagels today won't fit into them. If you have a source for traditional sized bagels, this will work fine.

Pros
  • Solid
Cons
  • The board may be too heavy to move frequently

Handle is very handy

Holds all sizes of bagels. cleans easily. Handle makes holding slicer in place without struggling. cuts cleanly & neatly. Fits in cabinet without taking up to much space by turning it on its side

Pros
  • Stylish and elegant design that adds natural charm to any kitchen or dining room
Cons
  • The dipping bowl may not match the overall aesthetic of the board

Baguette wooden cutting board

I gave one as a gift and I kept one for myself. Works good but the presentation adds a wow factor to the meal Thanks for attention.

A Simple Tool best in my review

My wife loves this product! She hasn't cut her fingers since she started cutting bagels in half using this tool. I would recommend producing a higher tool so the bagel seats deeper, making the knife fit the into the slot easier.

Pros
  • Made from high-quality acacia wood, which is both durable and easy to clean
Cons
  • The board may not have a smooth surface, causing it to be difficult to use

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Useful, good looking, well crafted.

This is a nice item. Beautiful wood, and well crafted. I like the design - small footprint to store, but still w a "handle" to hold while cutting. It fits the bagels I buy well - just firm enough that I can keep fingers well away, which is the point .

Pros
  • My wife really likes it. We put the Italian bread in it and some pastries In also.
Cons
  • The dipping bowl may not stay in place on the board
