Not as Reliable as You Would Think

For packages and cardboard boxes? These blades work great; but I find them less than desirable for that purpose compared to a normal utility blade or a ceramic extendable blade. It just seems like too much blade for opening a stupid box. I did use on some scrap carpet because these blades should work well on thicker materials, and I was not so impressed. I know it's hard to get clean cuts on carpet to begin with, but other than having some control over accidentally cutting what is below the…

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • The packaging is difficult to open and doesn't protect the blades well

Wonderful Quality, Easy To Use

So far, these are working very well. We've only switched out one blade and it seems to be lasting quite well. The process of switching them out is easy, as expected, and they are fit properly to the Craftsman utility knife, so they don't wobble when using the knife. Good luck finding what will work for your needs. We have found that the combination of these blades and the utility knife is a very good option and they are working very well.

Pros
  • Multiple applications: Large hook for opening packaging, cutting, roofing, tile, carpet, fabric and other thick materials
Cons
  • Blades are not durable, they dull too quickly

Perfect for gnarly cutting jobs

Cutting vinyl tiles is tough because the pointy utility knife blades want to slide. These blades dig in so you can get a hold on the material and slice right through. Sharp as all get-out, too. They're more expensive than regular blades, but that's okay. You can save them for the tasks that really need them.

Pros
  • The sharp blades ensure clean, precise cuts, minimizing the risk of jagged edges or damage to your materials
Cons
  • Poor overall quality for the price

You may not know you need these- but you do

I used these for the first time when unboxing a new water heater. Wow! Just slap it against the box and pull. It won't pull off, it won't go too deep and you can get great leverage since it won't ride up like a regular blade. Safer, as it won't suddenly pull out.I only wish I knew about these 30 years ago! If you need to cut cardboard or other similar stuff- get these!

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • Does not fit into some utility knife handles

Perfect for box cutters

I got these to put in my box cutter instead of regular blades. They work great to open boxes and other cutting without being quite as risky as regular blades. They seem to last a bit longer too. Overall, these are perfect for my needs.

Pros
  • The blades are made from high-quality materials, ensuring long-lasting durability.
Cons
  • Hook is not strong enough to hold onto thicker materials

not as sharp as competitors

used Master Force brand before Craftsman. Hand Tools. switched for cost but not as sharp, harder to pull/cut. still works.

Pros
  • Hand Tools
Cons
  • Blades are not very sharp
