K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: Enhance Performance, Boost Horsepower: 50-State Legal: Fits 2005-2006 FORD (Mustang GT)57-2565 Review

HOW other customers have had issues with the supplied hose attached to the air hose, same as me. Called K&N and found the hose had to be a 1/2 inch ID. The resulting tubing was 3/8 inch. So you can call and they'll pick up the right hose overnight.

I got this system from Amazon and got it in a few days. Installation was easy following the instructions. Took about an HOUR very easily. Responsiveness and horsepower gains, I haven't had a chance to check gas mileage because I can't keep my foot off it for too much fun. Yes, I would recommend this product.

I love the quality, sound and performance they have brought to my Mustang GT. It took my airflow sensor/computer a minute to adjust. After slowing down, the idle was very low at 500 rpm. I even removed the negative terminal and reconfigured several times. At least that's how it was for the first few days and then it adjusted itself to the airflow. Gas mileage increased by 4 mpg! 26mpg or better!

- The intake pipe requires a rubber hose (included) that goes to the valve cover and is almost impossible to install. It fits perfectly into the valve cover stem fitting, however the K&N intake manifold fitting is too large for the rubber hose that comes with it. I ended up removing the inlet pipe from the carburetor and I had to add silicone with teflon grease (doesn't destroy rubber) to the rubber hose. and fasten to the pipe connection at floor level. The only difference I noticed first was the sound which is great. I didn't notice a huge change in performance initially, but after about a week I noticed a noticeable increase in performance. I suspect that the computer needs time to adjust to the airflow. It's hard to say about the mileage because I don't follow it very closely, but it also seems to be a bit better. It was very easy to assemble, the only thing that can be confusing is figuring out which gear is used where. Take your time and that is very logical. As for K&N's performance, first impressions are very good! this is def raises the engine/exhaust sound a notch or two! And the acceleration behavior is also noticeably improved! It's almost as if you feel the car is breathing easier, and apparently it is! It just runs smoother, even at normal cruising speeds, feels like the car just got a new tune
