K&N Cold Air Intake Kit for Hummer H2 6.0/6.2L V8: Increased Horsepower Guaranteed + 50-State Legal (2003-2009, Model: 57-3037) Review

A must-have for Hummer owners. It looks amazing, sounds amazing, wakes up the engine and helps with gas mileage. This is my second Hummer that I have installed this product on and it has worked great both times. And the new version with carbon fiber filter looks great.

You will need a parts container to install this filter. Wrong size bolts and nuts. The distance between intake pipe and fan is 1/16 inch. So far there has been no increase in fuel consumption. Very limited increase in throttle response. I have bought over a dozen K&N car air intakes and this is by far the worst I have ever had. Bad technique. Wouldn't recommend it.

Improved response and tone. But seriously. $400 and missing parts or miscounted parts in the parts bag? Is this a $400 product? Due to the poor quality control of the Chinese made product, I expected to have to supply my own parts. K&N is clearly more interested in cashing a check than in product pride. This is my third K&N product in 8 years. Definitely my last now that there is more competition in the market.

In use for almost a month, no noticeable improvement in throttle response, fuel economy stayed the same. When installing, the nuts and bolts do not match. You'll have to go to a hardware store to get nuts with the correct thread pitch. Overall not a very good price. Why have I waited all these years?!?! I love it! After installation, I did a 63-mile test drive combined with city and highway driving. The trip meter recorded an average of 12.6 MGP, which is higher than my average of 10.4 MGP. That's an improvement of 20%. Now I can drive longer on one tank of fuel. I bought this and a Borla Cat back exhaust for my Hummer H2.
