It worked very well for me

Worked very well for the 700 mile trip to Hilton Head Island when fitted with my 48 inch trailer hitch port cargo trunk. I bought some ratchet straps from Lowes for $15 and slipped them through the buckles on the bag to give it some extra support and off we went. The ratchet straps also made it easier to put the bag on and off the carrier. I also put some thin plywood under the bag to support this as others here have suggested. It worked really well for me. Incidentally, it fit perfectly in the

very useful for truckers

How I have used the product: About 4,000 miles on a Honda CRV and about 500 miles on a Jeep TJ. Drive along the Florida coast to Maine and through the peaks and valleys of North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. rain/storm wind. Owned for about 6 months. Was considering getting a roof rack but had no interest in acrobatic stunts, MPG affliction, upfront cost or the space allotted to store such a crate when not in use. the integrity of the bag and stories about the…

LARGE STORAGE OPPORTUNITY! But a word of caution.

Absolutely LOVED with this bag. That left us with enough space in the car for the trip from Maine to St. Louis in December. It's also withstood crazy weather, from cold rain to Cleveland snow storms, and everything stays clean and dry.*** WARNING! *** I drove a 15 Subaru Forester. The ROLA carrier that I bought with the bag that attaches to the car's hitch was flush with the rear bumper. The exhaust pipe, although under the bumper, got so hot it melted the edge of the trunk and one of the six…

Seems to be good material and dimensions but not "rainproof " at all.

I bought this bag new to fit in the trunk of my VW Westfalia Camper Van. Many owners of these vans report that they are perfect for a standard fiberglass trunk design cargo bag. I love the bag's design, the thick, durable material that feels premium and weather-resistant, and the strong zippers. a new tarp in the bag to wrap my "just in case" load, as well as a much larger tarp fully double-bagged on the outside for PNW rain as I drove the freeway south into the desert. My ROLA bag stayed…

DO NOT purchase this product or any Rola product.

Doesn't protect against rain or keep your cargo dry. I bought this item specifically for my annual hike last weekend. I packed everything and closed the bag. This isn't rocket science. We survived a bit of rain and everything in this bag was wet with a puddle at the bottom. Amazon calls it "rain cover to keep cargo dry, clean and protected". My load was not dry, clean or protected. To my dismay I logged in this morning to arrange a refund and my refund expired yesterday. Much luck. I called…

  • Some little things

We bought this product for our overland trip (in preparation) in addition to the 59502 ROLA load carrier. Usage: We followed the advice of other reviewers regarding the inner tarpaulin to protect the inside of the bag from shifting or moving and tearing the bag. We had another tarp between the bag and the trunk for the same reason. We've only used the included straps to hold the bag and they've worked well so far (1000 miles down). We keep all of our stuff in three 12 gallon containers…

SUITABLE FOR CARRIERS. Keeps things dry and safe!

I read all sorts of reviews about these bags and decided to buy a pair for our cars. I'm writing over the Christmas holidays and we used two of these from Revain for our articulated lorry trip. To answer the question, are they rainproof, definitely yes. I think the people who complained about the thing getting wet didn't zip it up. Keep straps securely in place. Yes absolutely, very reliable (I'm the kind of person that needs something to work well or I get something that works). it is a…
