This is my first experience with a product of this type, but I'm very satisfied. The slices are the same thickness. A few (maybe four?) are cracked, but not many to upset me and they appear intact and usable despite the cracks. I use acrylic paint and it works very well with good opacity. They were neatly packaged and it was easy for me to make my presents! I had to downsize my projects a bit because the tan workspace was a bit smaller than I expected for it's size (see top piece of wood). Almost all were fantastic, rustic, and suited my project as planned, but the last three would need a more robust design to hide minor imperfections (see the bottom piece of wood in the picture).
