High Performance K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: Guaranteed Horsepower Increase for 2018-2020 Jeep (Wrangler JL, Gladiator) 3.6L V6, Model 63-1576 Review

This K&N CAI really woke up the 3.6L engine in my 2020 Jeep Gladiator. Increased throttle response with a distinct growl under the hood! Easy installation. Recommended for anyone looking for extra oomph and a powerful engine in their Jeep.

The item I received was missing a hole for the air temp sensor, one of the screw holes on the air box was filled with plastic and was unusable, and the intake tube didn't line up properly with the holes on the air box.UPDATE: Got a replacement , without defects and perfectly installed. Definitely gives the engine a deeper sound. Just watch out for quality issues.

I installed this air intake on my 2020 Gladiator last weekend. It was a relatively easy install and it bolted on without drilling. The instructions didn't mention having to remove the grille to access the two extra screws next to the heatsink, but other than that it took about an hour and a half of my work. The results are more about sound than mileage or performance gains. Looks great, sounds even better!

This K&N does two things: 1) eliminates all the hard work of Jeep engineers to balance intake flow and suppress engine reverberation from the intake, and 2) noticeably increases airflow. Everything appears to be factory sealed; however, screws were missing; there was a threaded sleeve on the filter housing that either dangled or fell out; the temperature sensor hole was half-aligned in the rubber boot; Eyelet attachments didn't even come close to matching eyelets; The intake pipe was a good inch from the throttle body, even though the unit was positioned correctly. (Of course, the bushing brackets had to be removed for the box to seat properly.) My car is a brand new 2021…

I installed it today and it took about an hour. It would have been quicker, but I walked in and out of the house, grabbing tools and coffee. Good.1. This is probably the 5th KN air intake I've bought in the last 12 years or so. . Never had installation or performance issues. Although they were wrong about that.
