The processing quality is very good. Doesn't look cheap at all

The build quality is very good. It doesn't look cheap at all. Image quality is excellent when you open it up and get down to f/5.6 or f/8. Wide open, soft focus at the corners. It has a degree of barrel distortion that can be corrected after the fact, unless you're shooting JPEGs straight from the camera. It has a stepless aperture, which might be more attractive for videographers. The ring is strong enough to hold itself so it cannot be accidentally twisted. There's nothing electronic or…

You get what you pay for (sometimes less)

Where to start?1. After unboxing the lens, I mounted it on my X-Pro1 and found that all the numbers printed on the lens barrel were facing the ground. I removed the lens and noticed the mounting pin on its mounting plate is on the opposite side of the pin socket on the camera body. This was fixed by removing the mounting plate from the lens using a Phillips screwdriver to remove 4 small screws, realigning the plate and then reinstalling the screws. The numbers on the lens barrel are now facing…

Phenomenal budget lens!

Ok leaving the obvious, if you are looking for a "professional" quality lens then this glass probably isn't for you. BUT, if you are looking for an incredibly beautiful, inexpensive lens with a lot of character: then you, my friend, are in the right place! After several deliberations about buying this lens, I finally pulled the trigger and couldn't help but be happier with my decision. After a month of use, it's quickly becoming the main lens for my X-T2 and won't be changing anytime soon…

A very inexpensive way to try a manual focus prime lens

UPDATED. After using this lens for 6 months I noticed that the center corner sharpness is excellent (even better than Fuji 23mm lenses) and the bokeh at f/1.8 is excellent (softer bokeh than that Fuji 23mm Prime at the same time). aperture), corner sharpness is very poor. For this reason I am changing my rating to 4 stars. But that doesn't make the lens unusable - this lens even succeeds in exceptionally artistic shots at f/1.8. And the lens has a wonderful vintage look and character due to its

Great lens, great price but not perfect

To be honest, this lens isn't perfect. It's to be expected - it costs less than $70. On the plus side, however, it's capable of truly impressive performance that (to me) far outweighs its shortcomings. Considering the price, this is a 5 star lens. Details Pros: - Remarkable sharpness in the center of the frame, even when shooting at f2. At f4, the sharpness is incredible across most of the frame (see cons). The leaf image is a 100% crop of an image taken at f2 - the resolution is incredible.…

Better than expected.

I have a Fuji X-T20 and was looking for a fast prime lens (specifically the Fujifilm XF 23mm f/2) when I came across a blog review of 7artisans 25mm f/ 1.8 bumped. As you can imagine, I was met with a lot of skepticism given the very low cost of the f/1.8 lens and the fact that it's not a branded lens. I struggled with the ideal of spending $450 for a Fuji 23mm f/2 (or maybe $899 for a Fuji 23mm f/1.8) versus $70 for a 7artisans 25 f/1.8, and chose the latter. I found out how much I would…
