like other reviews that had problems

is easy to use but has issues with locking and holding onto the core rod. Had to be tampered with several times to make it work with no loss of refrigerant.

Maybe good paper weight.

The inside of this tool is not smooth enough to pull the valve stem through, it will snap and will not come out with the puller. You'll get it eventually, but it's very frustrating.

Great price for tools and gear

This worked great for our dyi HVAC project. No leaks and trouble-free operation of the device. It seems well assembled for a budget device. Can't speak to its durability but it was a good investment for a DIY project.

Had to go through 3 to get a good one. Serves its purpose.

I had to order 3 to get a good one. One had a nick on the side port, the other had defects on the shaft. The one I kept worked perfectly, good value for money. One thing I would do differently is rotate the side port 180 degrees so the shut off valve is in the front instead of the back when connecting to most air conditioners.

Doesn't grab Schrader core

I was able to unscrew the Schrader core. But the tool fails to grip the valve and the valve gets stuck in the ball valve. As someone else mentioned: pressure pushes the valve out until it hits the ball valve and then the freon flows past the stuck valve. I can't remove the tool now because I can't screw the old valve back in.

Will not fit most car AC outlets

This product may work well but will not fit high and low side AC outlets on 90% of cars. I bought it by mistake because it is said to be able to be used with the R124 refrigerant which is standard on most cars built in the last 20 years. (at least since 2004). I suspect this tool is mostly useful for personal or commercial AC applications. Most cars have "lift and clamp" type connectors. You can't use this without adapters, which come with the exact same tool but cost about $6 more.

Does not work with Tools & Equipment

The item description emphasizes that this improved model does not leak as previous models should have. The manufacturer receives full points for this feature. Doesn't leak. The problem arises with the "Grabber" as the documentation calls it. The device allows you to unscrew the old valve core, but does not "grab" it in any way. You would think that the coolant pressure would force the core out, but the coolant actually escapes from the core when you unscrew it, so it equalizes on both sides…
