🔝 Highly Efficient Abanaki Ultra-Mini Tramp Oil Skimmer with 1" Wide 8" Long Base-to-Bottom Belt Review

Belt is very stiff. It bounces and gets stuck and can't get it to work right away. The strap should be more flexible or rubber.

Does its job, less than $150. I can't understand if the belt is worn out or the oil inside is just crusted. I'm surprised more people aren't doing these things.

These little skimmers are really good for the money we paid. They were priced right for what they do, unlike similar products from the same company.

The oil pan works perfectly in our machines and absorbs excess oil with great efficiency. Will definitely buy again in the future. The delivery time was very fast, we got to our place quicker than we expected.

As mentioned, poor quality. Motor replaced after 14 months, belt wheel torn after 18 months. I was able to make a new one out of aluminum, plastic just doesn't get along with the coolant. The strap deforms after a while, but that happens to everyone. Just order a standard timing belt of the right length for about $15. Please note that we are open 24 hours a day and may not be designed for this type of workload.

The electrical connection on the back is very weak. You have to constantly fiddle with it to stay in place. The belt that the skimmer uses will warp over time and won't stay on the pulley, requiring you to keep buying new belts. Check out the price of the straps, they are $70-$90 for a $10 strap. You often have to replace them, which seems like a rip off to me. I change brands.

The description says that the 12 inch belt got a 17 inch belt. Luckily I already had a spare 12" belt. The belt keeps slipping off the top pulley, probably due to the small diameter. I added a guide to keep the belt in line, after which the bottom weighted pulley kept coming loose The final solution is that it works; Replace the chain with a solid metal rod. I used 1" wide x 0.03" thick steel strap. Cut to length, drill two holes and use existing nuts and bolts. Now works it great.Also replaced

2 pictures of old belt and new belt. I bought one and it worked fine initially. Then I noticed that my colleague no longer uses it. I asked him why he said it only works for about 4-5 months, after that the strap won't hold. So I looked at it and saw that the belt was very deformed and wouldn't stay on the pulley.
