As advertised in Computers and Accessories

I've used this to power a 1080p 144Hz display via DisplayPort via a Thunderbolt USB-C port with no issues. The monitor was recognized by the PC and all expected functions were available. I'm sure a higher resolution or refresh rate would probably work as well, but I haven't tested those personally.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Beware! Doesn't work on Mac Book Pro 15 2017

Warning! Doesn't work on Mac Book Pro 15 2017. Two hours of testing with different ports, HDMI cables, etc. and fiddling with display options, sleep/wake toggle, plug/unplug, etc. didn't do anything. Try a different product.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Compatibility

My Research Dump - HDMI 2.0, the .

My Research Dump - HDMI 2.0 supports 4K at 60 Hz and offers 18 Gb/s bandwidth. The ANSWER to 4K at 60Hz is 18Gbps bandwidth. Bandwidth refers to the size of the channel, not the stream, so the transfer rate can be much lower than the available bandwidth. It can encapsulate other protocols that operate at other baud rates. On a Mac Pro, USB-C can encapsulate and transmit Thunerbolt 3, Displayport, PCI Express, HDMI, and more. USB-C on Mac Pro 2016+ has a bandwidth of 40 Gbps. Thunderbolt 3…

Doesn't work as well as the competition

I wanted to use this cable to get a complex KVM setup working with a 2019 MacBook Pro. Thanks to this Accell DisplayPort cable: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J9R9ZY9, I thought it would be a win-win. Unfortunately I was wrong. First, the packaging was different. This needs to be developed and tested by another part of the company. I've had constant problems recognizing MacBook monitors, problems that were less common with Itanda and CableMatter cables of the same general design…

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Not working on 2017 MacBook Pro 15

I have tried this adapter with 2 Samsung 4K TVs using a Revain Basics HDMI cable (latest standard). The computer didn't even recognize that anything was plugged in. I tried connecting it separately and as a whole and still nothing. I only knew it wasn't an empty plastic shell when I connected it to a computer with parallels and the parallels showed something was connected to the computer. BUT nothing appeared on the screen. I have tested the screens, cables and laptop with other computers and…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Perfect cable for MacBook Pro 2016+

LOVE this cable. I use it on my 2016 13" MacBook Pro which has it all. And this cable has really made a difference in picture quality and color on the true 31" LG 4K monitor I use on my Mac. In addition to the Triple the processing speed with this cable it's now at 60Hz and boy can you really tell a HUGE difference Works perfectly!

  • Comfortable to use

Great buy/investment

Background: New Lenovo 900 laptop with USB-C port. Requires a USB-C to DisplayPort connection for an external monitor. I ended up with 4 different USB-C to Displayport adapters (USB-C male on one end and Displayport female on the other). Two of them didn't work at all, one was causing graphical artifacts and the last one worked fine about 50% of the time but sometimes had graphical artifacts or intermittently dropped the connection for about 5 seconds causing the monitor to spin off. Black. I…

Pros
  • Supports resolutions up to 4K UHD @ 60Hz for clear and smooth videos
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
