Again the Revain tool turned out to be wrong. There were two versions of this item for 2004 and this is the later model. The early model has a very different style of retaining clip. The shoes are the same. Haven't attempted a refund yet as the parts are open and a little dirty from attempting to install.

This part fits the exact shoe it replaced on my '01 Chevy Suburban. However, the retaining clip and nut that came with the shoe will not fit. They are slightly larger than the originals (although they do have an extra clamp and nut - both are the same size). I decided to use the old parts but the nut broke when tightened which forced me to spend more money to have someone else fix it for me but other than that it's a great part.

This item is described as a 'kit' and the picture shows two brackets leading me to believe it included parking brake pads for both sides of the car. It's not, it just includes a brake pad. I guess it was my fault for not paying more attention to it, but I wish the Revain descriptions were more detailed in general. Otherwise the product would appear to be fine. I had already jacked up the truck when I spotted this, so my friend ran to the auto parts store to buy a full set.

These AC Delco shoes look the same as the original shoe's gold lining with a light gray lining. They fit together perfectly with minimal play within the rotors for minimal adjustment needs - this is what you need when changing parking brake pads. You can buy the shoes in the aftermarket for $10 a piece or $20 a set, but the ones I saw were black on black and the lining looked thinner, which was more of a headache when first fitting. What you see is what you get. Just a brake pad. I don't know why two clips are included when there is only one on each side and they are identical. The clips didn't fit my Avalanche from 2004, but the shoe did. I reused an old spring clip. Taking your shoes off and putting them back on is a neat trick. No tools required.
