Hard warm starts? fits fuel system

If you have a high mileage old car that spits, spatters and stalls during a hot start, this could be your problem, was for me. Transferring to the Pontiac Grand Am is a bit awkward as you have to pull on the gas pedal.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • functionality

Does your car smell of petrol and is difficult to start?

Fixed an issue that has existed for a few years. A professional mechanic was unable to diagnose the problem as it only leaked when cold. I found it easy to swap out in under an hour without removing the throttle body by simply working under the throttle cables.

Pros
  • Easy to use

Stay with AC Delco OEM Equipment!

So my 2002 Buick Century (169,000 miles) smelled like a bad gas leak when it first started in the morning. A little research revealed that a faulty fuel pressure regulator could be the cause. So I went ahead, got a factory replacement, installed it and voila. no gas fumes and the car drives much better as the city has more power and smoothness.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Doubtful

Not brass as shown

I doubt this is an ACDelco OEM part. It came in an ACDelco box but not the brass box shown in the photo. The part I received is a brightly polished metal with the numbers 22144 and 35318 printed on it. I've searched all over the internet and can only find pictures and descriptions that describe the part as being brass and not other metals. I hope I haven't been scammed by putting a non-ACDelco part in the box.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons

This is Delco AC Fuel Injection

Put this on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT with LA1 3400 and it works very well - at least I don't see any problems (I rebuilt the engine and everything works) Normally I use AC Delco parts on my GM vehicles, do regular maintenance and have had little to no problems. Note that this isn't the easiest of places - yes, it faces you when you open the hood, but still. It's held on by a torx screw, and then the fuel line below - it might be easier to change if you've removed the fuel line, but then…

I thought I would try my best and it still works but it seems to be working.

I have replaced several of these regulators :-). The first went through the car zone and it was the first start. I have ordered another Delco. I thought I'd try my best and it still works, but seems to be messing up. All that foreign production, even Delco. That's a royal pain as you have to re-draw the plenum. They say you can't buy a better Delco. Well I would argue. Next time it resets I'll use a race fuel pump on the hood and an adjustable regulator and be done with that. Used them when I…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Minor issues

So far so good seems to be OEM Reman

. I didn't have a thick gas smell as the only symptom, rather my entire regulator started leaking on my 2002 around the big round pinch next to a vacuum leak. century since 3.1 v6. The gasoline poured straight onto my engine. I decided to wait a few more days and buy the OEM part because I've read too many bad stories about non-original ESCs that expire after a certain amount of time. The part works great and looks the same as the OEM part, except for the color which on this part was fully…
