ACDelco Professional 18FR745 Remanufactured Friction Ready Non-Coated Front Passenger Side Disc Brake Caliper Assembly Review

Replaced the front rotors on my 1995 C1500. The brake calipers are supplied unpainted. I suggest painting them before installing to avoid rusting.

Less than four months later it's like a few miles and it won't let go, it's getting hot as hell. New rotary brakes and caliper and now I have to replace that caliper!

This was the perfect replacement for my old calipers on my '97 Chevy K1500. Check the hardware box before you begin. I also bought the driver's side and there wasn't enough pin bushing. Looks like someone took it out of their pocket and resealed the box. However, I had everything in the box with this one.

Arrived quickly, well packaged. All the essentials were included and the fit was top notch. The "finish" of the surface was inferior to that of bare steel. Rusted in 3 days. I really regret not disassembling and painting before installation. Never. Poor metal quality and workmanship. upset. AC Delco Professional should be better.

Perfect fit for 1998 Chevy C1500 2WD Pickup. It looks like the remanufacturing process was done correctly. with clean material surface. The caliper boot and slide pin boots are OE quality, as expected. It comes with two snap rings needed to secure the brake hose connector banjo to the caliper. Also comes with two steel caliper bushings/inserts and caliper bolts.

The caliper works great straight out of the box, I can't vouch for how long it will last as I only changed it yesterday. They are supplied unpainted or finished as they appear in the product photo (the photo shows them painted black). But hey, after the main discount, it's a $24 caliper, so I can't complain. I wish they had come with caliper grease because I didn't have it on hand and the bolts and bushings come DRY. Make sure you have caliper lube to get the job done.

Perfect fit as it is ACDelco, same parts dealers use. I would have known, I left GM as Director of Stationary Operations. Came with all the hardware - just put the pads on and install. Not enough silicone lube - you have to provide your own. I got a coated caliper for this side of my van for the uncoated price. How I wish I could cover myself with the other side retrospectively. They also have a good discount. They are OEM but end up being cheaper than lousy parts. The first set lasted 18 years
