Description of ๐Ÿ”ง ACDelco Professional Gas Charged Rear Shock Absorber 530-456 - High-Quality Premium Option

A hardened, chromed piston rod with micro cracks provides an ultra-smooth, self-lubricating, corrosion- and scratch-resistant surface, helping increase seal life. Drawn over mandrel (DOM) pressure cylinder for high quality sealing properties and reduced internal friction to assist with longer product life. Gas charged for reduced fluid aeration, which can result in better response, less foaming, and more consistent control than non-gas charged shocks. Full perimeter, multi-lip, piston rod seal is permanently lubricated and helps keep dirt and contaminates from reaching the interior of the rod. O-ring hydraulic piston seal resulting in minimized piston blow-by and consistent control.

Good price good quality

Nothing to say. The shop told me my old mufflers were leaking, I didn't want to pay extra for them, they were a lot cheaper and performed very well.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Appearance

OE is simply more reliable than aftermarket.

I originally replaced my original shock absorbers with Moog shock absorbers after 9 years. Moogs were lighter built and lasted about 2 years. Then I bought a new set of original shock absorbers and although they are expensive, they are much more reliable. You get what you pay for.

Pros
  • handy
Cons
  • will be added later

My 2008 Saturn Astra XR is fun again!

I bought these for my 2008 Saturn Astra XR and I have no regrets. Combined with new struts, brackets and coils up front, the car felt like new again. I got these instead of Monroe shocks because I wanted the best handling, not a smoother ride. If you receive them with the right expectations, you will not be disappointed.

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • Repair

Very good fit and handling, comparable to the original.

I bought these for my 2008 Saturn Astra XE 5 door. It doesn't have sports suspension. Since GM shocks are hard to come by and expensive, I replaced them with AC Delcos. They offer better and firmer handling than my almost worn out shocks. The only difference between these shocks and the OEM shocks on my car is that they were about 3/8 inch shorter in overall length. I bought them 'like new' and the only thing that made them different from 'new' was that the boxes were open.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Boring packaging

I will buy again when my cobalt is enough to need them again

Replaced the rear shocks with my cobalt. Drives MUCH BETTER! Worth every penny. I had 100,000 miles on the old one and when I squeezed them they didn't stretch at all. My old ones were OUT! They ran perfectly. Normally light work. Remove the tire, then one screw at the bottom and one at the top. I ran into an issue where one of the bolts got stuck in the shock and I couldn't get it out. Not even a flashlight helped. Bolts like the ones they hold are hard to find. I had to order from the dealer.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
