ACDelco EP12S Professional Electric Assembly Review

After checking the Delco website and checking the listing for this pump I bought it for my '78 GMC 454 truck. Since this is an in-line pump, installation is as easy as it gets and I also installed an in-line filter just before this pump. My first test drive was disappointing because the engine started and stopped several times over the course of 20 minutes. I installed one of these on a '68 GMC after the mechanical pump failed. It worked fine for over 6 years and then shut down without warning. I would call it a normal lifespan, but not great. Unfortunately, this only applied to the 2002 model; The next two I bought failed in 6 months or less. I did an autopsy; The internal check valve appears to have fallen apart.
