🔒 ACDelco GM PF1218 Oil Filter - Genuine Original Equipment for Optimal Engine Performance Review

I hope these are genuine Delco air conditioners and not a Chinese fake. Bought several of these. You can cut open an old one to see if it's any better than a Walmart fram junk. I'll post a video when I do.

I have ordered 3 of these. Each was packaged in a very thin box that opened to reveal a filter. The strange labels on the box led me to believe it was a cheap fake. I checked the same AC Delco part number at Autozone and it was the same as the Revain. I decided not to use them in my rebuilt engine and sent them back.

These filters do not have an anti-leak check valve. The core's inner support is a flimsy plastic grille instead of a perforated metal shell. The headstock was flat rather than the typical dome. The paint looked hand applied and uneven. The media material is unknown and when all these items were messing up the odd meter I didn't trust these filters and threw away the two I bought.

the dimensions on this filter are wrong. I thought I'd order a replacement filter for AC PF-35. Not correct. it's not 5 inches, it's a 4 inch filter. Description is wrong. The image is misleading and should be used with a different filter. The number of threads and the size of the shank and rubber washer are the right size. Also, this filter does not have a drain check valve, which is required by many older engines.

Filter was dented on side of flange I wasn't expecting to see this when I took it out of the box but at the time I was in the middle of an oil change and had to use it and hope for the best. I received the filter about a month before I needed to use it and just took it out of the mailer and put the box on the shelf without pulling it out to check. Luckily it doesn't leak, but I'll check them out next time before the next one bites my ass.

This is a shorter 4" filter, not a 5" filter. Disassembled to see the design. Has cheaper cardboard ends for attaching the filter material. There is an anti-drain check valve, but it's made of nitrile rubber, not silicone. It doesn't have a bypass valve to supply oil when the filter is clogged. Uses bent sheet metal to seal the filter media to the housing. The best filters use coil springs. I replaced this filter with a K&N HP 3002.

I had read in a previous review that the part looked fake and when I received mine I found it too due to the thin cardboard packaging with Korean writing on the box suspicious . . Also, the base of the filter was flat instead of the domed one I'm used to. I contacted AC Delco (their website has a link to report suspicious parts) and was asked to send photos of the part and packaging. Perfect fit for my Chevy Express Van. I have had two of these vans, this is my second van and with these vans it is well known that oil changes are very important to be done on time or early to avoid premature engine failure. Before using this particular filter I had an easy cold start engine with the old filters and clean oils I used.
