There is a tight knot at the back.

There is a solid knot at the back of the heel where they finish off the heel hole strip. This rubs on the back of the heel, which is uncomfortable even when wearing open-heeled shoes and makes wearing closed-heeled shoes generally impossible. I tried sleeping with him for support but woke up within an hour because he was pressing too hard on the band under my toes. I bought the Small/Medium which seemed to fit and should work as I have small rather narrow feet so I'm not sure why the…

Comfortable but too high

I have had an ACE brand ankle brace for many years but have decided to get a replacement so that I can it can rotate during the time point of my current wound. I got this size L/XL because I need support for swelling with too much tension. It's very soft and I love the extra padding around the ankle but having an old one to compare there are some obvious things I don't like. First, it's too big. The ankle support should not reach the middle of the lower leg, this is uncomfortable. I fold it…

Pros
  • Refined reinforced edges provide comfort and prevent rolling and slipping
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Finally great support!

I used to play Ultimate Frisbee (no laughter) 3-5 times a week and then had a non-critical injury that kept me from running for about 8 months. Of course, that meant I foolishly tried to quickly get back to the same level of training and injured myself with a good old hamstring injury in the process. What a joke. Without learning my lesson, I tried unsuccessfully to overcome the pain. Defeated, I pouted home to figure out what to do. After some research I got a sports tape and one of these and…

This is the fourth type of ankle brace/brace I've tried. Get more.

Severely sprained ankle about 4 years ago. and can very easily make it worse. I do a lot of house remodeling, geocaching, etc. which makes me prone to sore ankles. IMHO many of them are too bulky to carry to a tennis show. I've tried several types with lace elastics and then velcro straps - and now finally this elastic. This WORKS, I'm perfectly happy wearing it in my shoes and after a few hours it doesn't bother me anymore. While I would like more support than this gives, there is no point in…

Quality gone

I bought one of these over 10 years ago. It got loose so I decided to replace it. Inside the old label is written "big". So I ordered "Large/Extra Large" as a replacement. Well, I guess Ace's definition of "big" has changed. The one I received has "LG/XL" on the tag but it's a lot smaller than the old one. In fact, it's so tight that I have to take it off after about an hour. There is also a manufacturing problem or error. A fabric band is sewn around the hole where the back of the heel enters.

Pros
  • Refined, reinforced edges ensure comfort and prevent rolling and slipping
Cons
  • Doubtful
