Good update. maybe

We had a Verizon Actiontec modem and a Linksys router that was about 8 years old. It worked well, but with the advent of smart TVs, powerful wireless laptops, and the iPad, the slowness became annoying. The problem was what to do and buy. All signs pointed to a Verizon enabled Actionetc router/modem combo. Set up was a bit of a challenge, but not a huge problem. Within an hour, all devices were connected and ready to go. Very short lifespan.

Ordered September 2017 I decided to pay a premium compared to other products hoping it would offer more durability. Unfortunately it started to fail in June of this year and had to be replaced this month (July 2018).

Verizon DSL in the house, I rented a room.

The Verizon DSL in the house where I rented a room went out every 10 minutes when all roommates and devices were using the bandwidth of the Verizon provided modem/router and it was the only way to restore it . was to drop it. We bought this modem/router and the service hasn't stopped since we got it and it's still working for 7 months. Did exactly what we needed.
