The accuracy is about 90%, the best among household sensors and alarms

I got this because I turn on the light in the garage when I go through the side door because that door doesn't have a switch. It installed easily and was immediately found by my Samsung SmartThings hub. I was able to set up a rule to turn on my GE Z-Wave wall switch as well as my Sylvania Z-Wave wall plug that connects to my table lights when motion is detected. I set up a different rule so everything turns off after 5 minutes of no motion. The rules work great, although if I'm on the bench for

Not up to the standards I heard from this manufacturer. Avoid this for now.

I bought 3 of these based on my positive experiences with other aeotec products including Multi Sensor 6, wall remotes, sirens etc. So far I have tried unsuccessfully to use 2 of these in my smart system of things. At first I thought it was an issue with the included battery, which seemed to die after a week. New Duracell batteries and still disconnect from the system for a day or a week. I just can't get them to work, they always seem to stick to motion so the appropriate switches stay on…

Works well with OpenHAB, fast detection, adjustable sensitivity

I have three of these devices at home and could add a few more. They do double duty as temperature sensors for my thermostat and motion detection for occupancy detection. Powering on in OpenHAB is very similar to powering on any other battery powered Z-Wave device. Make sure it stays active until configuration is complete (a long press on the inner button will do this for you). OpenHAB will generate the XML when your mount has completed successfully. All three devices I have work well with the…

Works well with SmartThings and Hue

This setting allows you to use SmartThings to turn the Hue kitchen lights on and off based on traffic and light levels in the room. Works perfectly. The device's ambient light sensor is useful because you only turn on the lights in a room when it's actually dark. SmartThings allows you to enable this setting when programming a lights-on action. SmartThings also lets you program the lights in a room to turn off if no motion is detected for a specified period of time. This motion sensor is…

Much better than MultiSensor 6.

I have a MultiSensor 6 which is a normal sensor. The biggest issue I've had is that the MultiSensor's range has never been a big hit in the real world. In my situation I placed it in the room opposite the door so that when entering (depending on the hour and other decisions) some kind of automation would start, one of which should turn on the light. The problem I had was that even at the highest sensitivity it only triggered when I was already close to the sensor. Based on several reviews I…

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Case for use by suppliers. These are generally not Z-Wave Plus devices, they are large and use AA or AAA batteries. MultiSensor 6 make up the majority of my current sensors. I've gradually replaced my old devices with newer ones, but I discovered the TriSensor while looking for a wholesale deal on the MultiSensor 6s. I really only used the temperature and PIR of the previous sensors, so I decided to give the TriSensor a try. A lack of features will bring you a 15-30% price reduction. Build…
