Fire hazard - Do not buy

Do not buy - the microcircuit is actually burned. It was turned off and suddenly started smoking. There was a battery in there. It seems that something is not connected properly and the device is actually getting power when you put the battery in - even with the switch off. Luckily I had it on my desktop which now has another burn mark. Do not leave unattended! fire hazard.

Works great if you don't need USB

Works GREAT! until the USB connector breaks off, the SOLDERING POINTS are very weak for a USB connector! For the two days I had it was an amazing development board. Be VERY careful when plugged in. Banggood also sells this product and users have reported the same issues with the connector. I'm upgrading to four stars only because the seller replaced the unit immediately, I would like to give it 5 stars but it still stands, the USB connector is fragile, maybe Rev 2 where the USB connector is…

USB power issues

3 stars for USB power issues. It took a while before it worked. Tried running from USB first, didn't work (disabled COM ports on my computer, 3D printing pause). Plugged in battery and it seems to be working fine. Connected to USB without USB power, the serial port can be viewed and the launched WIFIScan sketch can be reprogrammed. When attempting USB power with the battery installed, the COM port disappears in Windows and nothing is done (can't tell for sure as the COM port is gone so the…

Don't waste your time and money - Useless

Where do I even start with this review? I had already ordered replacement blocks from TTGO but since they came from China I needed some equipment to build my project beforehand. The good ones are really few. The screen works fine, it's a hello world loop. Bad - firstly the covered pin headers are too short to solder and then mount anywhere on the board. They are only useful so that you can connect Dupont cables. I couldn't find the specification anywhere. Do you want to use the screen? It is a…

Worked great for 45 minutes

Worked great for 45 minutes. Great platform, useless due to poorly soldered connectors. Big disappointment. I should have listened to another review that said the same thing. BTW the "nano 32" board worked on the Arduino ide.

Pros
  • Shiny
Cons
  • Unreliable
