DD-WRT firmware boosts speed to 300Mbps

This router with stock firmware is not that hot. I bought it from Fry almost 2 years ago for a very low price - and I got it cheap. Operation at 150Mbps was weak and QOS settings were limited. Flashing with DD-WRT has really improved the features and performance of this router. The chipset has always had the potential to run at 300Mbps Wireless-N, but Airlink chose not to implement it in its firmware. DD-WRT does this and also offers advanced QOS and other configuration options. I am currently…

Great product, best in Computers & Accessories

Very easy install. I like to use both WPA2 and MAC address filters. It has a lot more room to filter MAC addresses (about 20 I think - more than I need). I have no problems with the network at home. The router is on the 2nd floor and all wireless devices work fine even on the 1st floor.

An excellent router for such a price if you can find it on sale.

I bought this router 3 months ago from Frys for $23. I've used it with various computers: Intel Apple Macbook Pro, Windows desktop with Airlink Wireless-N PCI card, Samsung Saga and Apple Airport Express (to stream iTunes music to remote speakers) and 3 other Windows computers with OEM wireless cards. An Apple-enabled wireless-N desktop computer will automatically connect to the router at N speeds, while other devices use 802.11g speeds. router, although the Airport Express is an 802.11g…

worth your money!

I bought this product to meet my wireless router needs. Easy setup was great, mostly automatic. I had a problem at first but soon found out it was tuned to the same channel as my downstairs neighbors, channel 6 by default. Once I changed it to channel 1 I have 100% signal and great downloading Speed! Thanks very much!

So far so good - Router

I chose this router because it was cheap, my needs were simple and my 10 year old router was clearly dying. I'm writing this review because although it was cheap, it works pretty well and fits my needs perfectly. I've had it for a few weeks now (no problem) and it's a big improvement. Installation was well documented and very easy. Everything just worked for me. I haven't had any dropped connections and haven't had to restart it since I started it. And in my large apartment I have good…

Great router, fits router

Just replaced my old Airlink Wireless G router with this one and still haven't had any problems. Now I have better signal strength downstairs than my old router. I also purchased an Airlink Wireless N PCI card for the guest room computer (the computer is about 50 feet from the router and connects at 133-150 Mbps) and the connection was solid. I didn't know my Asus netbook also has Wireless N and can provide a 133Mbps connection below. My colleague took the wrong one. Switched to a new one…

Pretty good WiFi access point/router

I think it's out of production but I found ours to work fine. It's pretty easy to set up either as a full DHCP WiFi router or as a simple WiFi hotspot behind another DHCP router like the one I use at home. But our PSU died after 3-4 years of use so I bought a spare AR670W mainly because I already know how to set it up. (And then I bought a spare PSU, so now I have a spare.) Range is decent, but not quite enough to cover our single-story, ranch-style house from the common room (on one side). So…
