Akebono ACT1280 ProACT Ultra Premium Ceramic Review

Very good price per pack. See below what I got. The pads came with caliper mounts and even a spring that separates the pads to prevent them from being tested on the rotor. I haven't installed them on my brother yet, they are exactly the MDX. About noise and dust, if any, I will report later.

Installed these on a pre 2016 Honda Pilot for a friend! Works great, all parts fit perfectly. I'm usually hesitant to buy brake parts online but these Akebono's have been excellent so far. The fit was great and the ease of installation made it worth it. The hardest part was removing the wheels from the car. Overall great brake pads. Will be updated for durability and long-term reliability.

Direct replacement for original pads on 2012 Honda Pilot, quiet operation, high braking performance. Don't forget to clean the hardware and apply some anti-seize to the pad tips and some silicone paste to the caliper guide pins to ensure even pad wear. Some "burnt" smell is perfectly normal during the first 100 miles as the pads "slow down". I used Centric Parts 120.40071 rotors with these pads.

My wife's replaced brakes: Rotor warped on passenger side. Trust me, it was the "$89.95 Special Brake System" from the previous one. Owner. They did well with Centric rotors; The spring retainer was easy to work out by installing the upper spring, holding the pads together with the caliper, flipping the caliper up, installing the lower spring and then finishing it off. Excellent braking power, smoothness, reliability / no fading, liked the price, liked the installation. 10/10 recommend.

Used to make the mistake of buying cheap chinese junk at an auto parts store. Now that I've replaced and used these pads for a while, my impressions are very good. Super fast stopping power combined with Centric Parts rotors. No brake dust! Very easy to install. No additional parts were required for installation. I have used a similar Akebono kit on my wife's Honda and they wear very well. Forget the auto parts store, find an Akebono that fits your car, buy one and don't look back.
