Terrible product design

First of all the instructions don't match the product. Apparently the canvas once had sleeves to hold the poles. They now have velcro straps that allow you to sag no matter how tight you adjust them. Unfortunately I've waited too long to install and my return window has expired, but I won't even attempt to install a second awning. Terrible design and product.

We had a problem with that just because .

We had a hard time installing this just because we installed it on a second floor window. In my office, a window faces west. I had to close the blinds every day to keep the temperature down, but now I can leave them open because this canopy blocks most of the sun. I'm still getting used to not having much light in my office, but it's a fair compromise. We've had it for about a month now and it has endured heavy rain and wind with no problems.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not the best

Fiction! suitable for building materials

Wow this awning is perfect. I have a south-facing window in my room, the sun heats up a lot. So we did a normal blind close, which doesn't really help much. Because the blinds are INSIDE the room, they heat up when left in the sun. So don't be fooled, the heat still gets inside with the blinds. With an awning, the sun is blocked from the OUTSIDE so that no heat gets inside. Also, now we can remove those horrible blinds that are blocking the view. So now we don't have a scorching sun, but a…

The quality has dropped significantly.

I bought a similar tent in Aleko almost 3 years ago and just wanted a new tarpaulin because the old one burned out in the sun. The new canvas option wasn't available and I figured heck, I'll buy the same one and just use the canvas. God how things have changed in these few years. The new screen sucks. Yes, it could be a Sunbrella, but it's a Sunbrella you can barely see through. The Aleko tag is gone and even the stitching isn't that good anymore. This one will NOT hold up as well as the last…

DISAPPEARS LIKE CRAZY. . . STAY BY THIS PRODUCT

I have this tent less than 1 month but a day past the return window. This is a terrible, inferior, cheap product. The thing quickly disappeared, and we only had a few days of sunshine here in Seattle. I consider this a robbery by Revain vendors. Such a high quality penny store product should NOT even sell, let alone a returns window that is closing faster than you can turn your head. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. . . PLEASE, DO NOT DO THAT! I've spent over $120 on these two lousy things and they're…

Weak, loose fitting feed mechanism is bullshit

I don't know how this product got positive reviews. The retreat system doesn't work, so don't even try to install it. The fabric is thin and the stitching looks like it was done by a child. The awning's material doesn't fit snugly against the frame, so it dangles and looks cheap. When the wind blows the whole frame moves (because you can't retract it properly with the pulley system) so you have to constantly go outside and fix the position of the whole thing. This wouldn't be a problem if they…

They took a really good product and ruined it.

I bought this for my Windows 3 years ago and am very happy with it. The sun and weather took their toll on the fabric so I ordered a replacement. On the original product, the sleeves were sewn into the edge where the metal support runs. The new ones have small Velcro strips. How do they expect these small strips, spaced at least 12 inches apart, to maintain the dome's structural integrity in inclement weather? The answer is no. When the wind blows, the dome sways. When it rains, the spacing…

Good Enough best in Window Awnings & Awnings

bad weather. . The one I received also has some rough stitching in the corners on the front. The frame is strong and easy to assemble. The hardware is also of good quality, but with the design of the top clamp bolts, the clamp bolt is UNDER the awning material, not ABOVE the material, making installation and snapping into place a clumsy adventure for the winter. I also used 2.5" hardware screws instead of the thin screws and anchors that came with it. "Good enough." Not something you can expect

The whole process was disappointing.

The product has a beautiful design. My problem was with the order. I ordered a 6ft x 2ft maroon canopy for a very stylish doghouse. A few weeks later I received a box marked £7 but with a towel rail inside. The box actually weighed 2 pounds. I assumed it was just a wrong delivery but when I took it to UPS to ship it back I spoke to someone at Revain and they told me the delivery date. I remembered it was the day the awning was supposed to come, but it didn't. So I had to order the item again…
