worked great until that happened.

warranty garbage. The rep told me that my F-350 suspension system is too stiff for this and they don't cover the product with a warranty. Nowhere in the description/installation or warranty pdf is it said anything about one ton truck which voids the warranty. I also mentioned that I have used it occasionally on my RV which they claim is also out of warranty. Just be warned if you want to use this on a truck or camper it's not covered (won't find it in writing)

Seat belts broke while driving on the freeway

I've been using this product for a year and to date I'm mostly happy with it. Hitch bounces - while driving on the freeway one of the belts snapped and my bike fell over in the middle of a busy freeway (70 mph). Luckily, any car could turn onto the median and shoulder of the freeway, damaging one or nothing but my bike (expected damage was about $300). Looking back, I regret buying this shelf. A regular rack when not heavily used and additional straps are used to secure the bike. For me…

Not bad but Premier

This is a decent bike rack that would definitely do the trick but I saw someone who had the Premier Edition and wish I could spend the extra $100 and get one . Key Benefits: Instead of cotter pins, you get quick-release fasteners on the top and bottom of the rack. This is much easier than removing the pins. The luggage rack has a rubber pad on the Premier but not on the Deluxe and the bikes will bang against the rack. So I had to put foam tape on the rack, Premier doesn't need that. The…

This was NOT designed for a 1 1/4 " receiver. Don't try

Arrow! It came very quickly! . (My 1 1/4"") How to do this non-standard rounded Unscrewing screw in H? Who knows? In the instructions on the picture, the letter S shows the head of the screw to be removed, INSIDE I think you should remove it! Good move! I don't need instructions, although I need an unknown tool that does this screw, UPDATE NEXT DAY: I almost sent it back, but was having a hard time finding one for the 1 1/4" hitch I have without. When I broke in hundreds of dollars, I decided…

Perfection! best in bike racks

To be honest I wanted a bike rack for 4 bikes but instead I bought one for 3 bikes especially for the locking feature which is a must for me. Finding a bike rack is next to impossible at the moment and I couldn't wait for others to be in stock due to our holiday plans. I followed the video instructions on Allen's website for assembly and installation and it was a breeze! I have a 1 1/4" hitch (this rack works with both 1 1/4" and 2") and the locking mechanism worked great. I highly recommend…

I've had it for a few years and it has worked like a champ

This is actually the second Allen 3 I have, the first one I accidentally left in an RV park. The first was a cheaper version of this, I've had it for a few years and it worked like a champ. Some of these bike racks are bloody expensive so I decided to upgrade to a prettier version of my old one because of the elastic rubber straps instead of the nylon straps my cheaper version had. Even with the upgrade, Allen is a lot cheaper than most. Just like the first one I like, this one has a simpler…

Ideal AFTER the next 3 problems are solved - very simple - see how

Like it but ONLY AFTER the next 3 problems are solved. I can now ride with two wobble-free bikes mounted with the bike's front wheel in place, and more importantly, I can remove the rack and its mounts in 10 seconds when not needed. Three problems and solutions I used. 1. When I'm not carrying bikes, the rack and carry handles cover the license plate. From what I've heard, it's illegal in my state to ride with a rack and no bikes. Blocking a license plate is illegal. They also interfere with…
