Failed Expectations

According to my experience, this product did not live up to its claims. It did improve the performance slightly, but not enough to justify the cost. On the downside, installation was difficult and required additional parts not included in the package.

Pros
  • Helps to reduce the wear and tear on the drivetrain components
Cons
  • Installation may require significant mechanical knowledge and experience

Poorly finished - a lot of time spent

Had to drill a hole for the shift rod in the tail section or it will bind - the notch was not machined exactly in time with the mounting holes. It's no fun doing the work twice and trying to figure it out. Not sure why it comes with 2 speedometer gears but not harmful. Next time I will continue with adapters.

Pros
  • Fixed fork
Cons
  • Problem

After 2 months the output shaft seal started to leak.

After 2 months the transmission output shaft seal started to leak and from day one I had a vibration that would not go away. I had the gearbox angle fitted at 2 different shops and a new Tom Woods driveshaft was fitted so I knew the problem had to be with the SYE's output shaft. The shaft turned out to be severely deflected and not round, which was the cause of vibrations. Installed the Advance Adapters SYE kit and no more vibration or leaks.

Pros
  • Requires CV driveshaft
Cons
  • No power
